Great home design has finally evolved to become much more aligned with the life styles that we really lead. For the most part, gone are the rooms that no one uses or the feeling of “look, but don’t touch”. Paramount to me, in all the spaces that I design, is incorporating a partnership of long lasting aesthetic beauty to the client’s mind’s eye and ease of desired end use.

Besides being the two rooms that are used more than any other in the home, creating wonderful kitchens and bathrooms exponentially increases the value of a home. I love all of the work that I do, but I do have an extra passion for designing kitchens, bathrooms and, yes, in a separate, but very important category, powder rooms.

Staging, although often done to help properties sell more quickly, is also a wonderful way to get your home ready for an event where you will be able to show your home to your guests with pride and satisfaction. I work within a client’s budget and often just change the furniture layout, add accessories and bring new life to an existing space.

Color, ahh, yes, color. Painting a room sounds simple, yes? But there are an infinite number of possible color stories and that can make it very, very complicated. Color can change the entire feeling that a room can emit. If done really well, a room can come to life and invite you to relax, entertain, remain focused or an endless number of other emotions.

Outdoor living spaces are an extension of your home and your ability to enjoy it. We plan these spaces with the same basic theory as those within your home (being mindful of the elements, of course) but without the confinement of walls or ceilings. Outdoor kitchens, cozy outdoor fireplaces and conversation pits – very enticing.

Whether you are interested in designing a space for the medical profession, the legal field, a specialty business or retail space, the final design must speak to all who walk in the doors which should make them feel confident in the quality of work that they will receive.

The entry into a commercial space or office building sets the tone for all the offices in that building. It needs to reflect the professionalism and level of care that will be provided throughout. Lighting, color stories, artwork and floor design are some of the factors that must be masterfully designed.

These projects, which have additional parameters and regulations, are so fulfilling. After at least a year of working on the inception of the design through every exterior and interior finish decision, there is nothing better than meeting the new residents and seeing how much they are enjoying their new home. This is complicated work, often under scrutinized budgets constraints, and the end result must still have the comfort, ease of living and beautiful environment that all homes have.
